Sterling Poulson, music director and conductor of the Days of ’47 KUTV Pops concert since 1997, invites you to join the Choral Arts Society of Utah and the Salt Lake Symphony for two great nights of fabulous music. Our guest artist and partner this year, the Clark Planetarium will help us celebrate the 50 th anniversary of Man’s first steps on the moon in July 1969. One of the greatest pioneering achievements of the 20 th century.

Founded in 1976, the Salt Lake Symphony is one of the area’s most highly respected volunteer driven orchestras. The Salt Lake Symphony is a non-profit organization dedicated to performing quality classical music concerts for the Wasatch Front community. The Symphony performs around 15 concerts per year.

The approximately ninety hard-working musicians of the SLS volunteer roughly 10,000 hours annually to accomplish this goal. Although the members of the Salt Lake Symphony come from all walks of life and frequently work full-time in other professions, they hold one thing in common: They play for the love and passion of music. Their dedication as volunteers sets them apart and creates a unique bond.

Performing now for over 30 years, The Choral Arts Society of Utah 100-voice mixed choir is based in Salt Lake City. Their performances are free, including their annual Armed Forces Day Concert, Days of ’47 Pops Concert, Spring Concert and Fall Concert. Our KUTV Holiday Pops Concert is a benefit concerts for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. The choir and their conductor just completed a performance of Gabriel Faure’s, Requiem in D Minor, Op. 48, in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. See a complete listing of the choir’s upcoming performances at www.casu.org.
