UTSPS planned to hold our 2020 April Awards Festival on April 17 in Salt Lake City. The UTSPS Board chose to cancel our annual poetry festival in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year we are having a one-day free event for members and nonmembers to come and enjoy prize winning poetry. Winners of our annual  poetry contest consisting of 35 categories will recite their poems, or if not present, the Society will provide readers to recite them. We will also have two presenters speak after lunch break about their poetry. Our first speaker will be Markay Brown, 2019 Utah State Poetry Society's, Poet of Year and our second presenter will be Rasuol Sorkhabi, founder of the Rumi  Poetry Club of Salt Lake City. The event is free and open to the public and will take place on April 17, 2020 at the Sorenson Unity Center.
