Mendelssohn evokes the brilliance of Italy’s sunshine and the vibrancy of its wine as the 2020 Deer Valley®? Music Festival closes with the Utah Symphony performing his “Italian” Symphony.

Other program highlights:

Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks, commissioned by King George II in 1749 to celebrate the signing of the Treaty of Aachen, is filled with majestic Baroque rhythms and stirring fanfares.

Handel’s triumphant fanfares are contrasted by the moody, melancholy melodies of Puccini’s elegy I Crisantemi (Chrysanthemums), written in memory of his friend and former King of Spain, Duke Amadeo I.

The concert concludes with the bright and energetic final movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.

House opens approximately 30-45 minutes before the concert begins.

Arrive early for best seating options as the venue fills up quickly and is general admission.

Approximate performance time is 2 hours with one 20-minute intermission.
