Sites & Sightlines Chapbook Reading and Conversation - CANCELED

Presented by Torrey House Press and University of Utah at University of Utah - Olpin Union Ballroom

Join Environmental Humanities Graduate students for a presentation, reading, and discussion of our latest chapbook, Sites & Sightlines. Hear from essay editors and contributors who unearth hidden environmental histories rooted in place.

In collaboration with Torrey House Press, student writers explore our home communities and ecosystems, starting where we are: The University of Utah. As we immerse ourselves in overlooked sites and unmapped spaces, we may begin to see and hear neglected stories in our midst.

Learn about the importance of place-based writing and the opportunity to have your own work published with a local publisher.

Refreshments and chapbooks will be provided!

This chapbook grew out of Gretchen Henderson’s graduate writing seminar on Tectonic Essays. Through thoughtful noticing and research on chosen sites across the University of Utah campus, students excavated untold and unseen stories. In collaboration with this course, Torrey House Press has collected essays written by community members, bridging the words of students with those of the broader community. By connecting individual sites, we are hoping to set up collective sightlines: new paths to explore together.
