Conservationist-in-Training Virtual Camp

Conservationist-in-Training Virtual Camp

Presented by Tracy Aviary at Online/Virtual Space

Explore conservation careers -- from zookeepers to bird scientists working in the field. Campers will hear from staff across the Aviary about their work and how they help save birds and wildlife. In addition to virtual content, campers are invited to join educators for field trips to Tracy Aviary’s Jordan River Nature Center and Farmington Bay to learn field techniques and earn service hours.

Additional time info:

Each week will include:

6-9 live sessions for campers to socialize and see behind-the-scenes at Tracy Aviary.

Numerous outdoor and non-screen-based projects that kids can work on at home.

Craft supplies available to pick-up at Tracy Aviary.

Some camps will include optional 1-hour field trips for a guided experience from our educators. Guardians are not required to stay for the duration of the field trip.

We estimate a week of camp to be 15-20 hours, including live sessions and time for activities away from the computer. We recognize that each camper is an individual and that some activities may hold the interest of one child for a long time while another child may not be as engaged. For this reason, we have incorporated different types of activities throughout the week.

Plus, registrants will receive one free adult and one free child admission to visit the Aviary after camp.
