Spit Love: A Queer Poetry Slam and Weekend

Spit Love: A Queer Poetry Slam and Weekend

Presented by Moab Pride at Star Hall

This event is Friday September 25th, and is the kick of event for a weekend of LGBTQIA Pride. There will be space available for poets to informally share at the Saturday picnic.

Moab Pride is delighted to present the FIFTH Spit Love: a queer poetry slam!

In light of COVID19 we have contingency plans:
1. A virtual Slam like 2nd Annual Slamming Bricks: A Slam Poetry Riot
2. Have performers come, and have the event live streamed from Star Hall.
3. Have performers come, and have the event be open to partial capacity.

Organizers are currently talking out each possibility and will update ASAP. We would ask for that poets and audience members considering attending come from Western Colorado or Utah (of course both states on occupied indigenous land). We would ask for folks to not travel from out of state to attend our Pride, with the exception of those on the western slope, to help slow the spread in the cooling temperatures.

REGARDLEZ we need YOU poets

This year to ensure ample space and stipends for all poets we are are only having seven poets. We will need a couple sac poets too if you want to participate and spots are full!

Spit Love is a LOVE themed slam. We do NOT censor storytelling but invite the poets to explore the layers of queer joy when considering poems for Spit L O V E.
