Salt Lake City’s Gilgal Sculpture Garden, celebrating 20 years as a Salt Lake City public park this year, has been accepted as the first Utah site in the Distinctive Destinations program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Gilgal, a magical urban oasis and botanical garden, is tucked away in the center of a city block at 749 East 500 South and contains twelve original sculptural arrangements and more than seventy stones engraved with scriptures, poems, and philosophical texts.
The public is welcome to enjoy this unique cultural experience of Utah every day throughout the year except Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Thanksgiving. Gilgal Garden can be seen on the Distinctive Destinations website at https://savingplaces.org/distinctive-destinations/gilgal-garden. More about Gilgal Garden can be seen at www.gilgalgarden.org.
