Retro Organic
September 11 - October 4
“Retro Organic” an exploration between vintage inspired patterns and flora and fauna.
Mariah Rupp grew up in Utah and her interest in art began when she was young. She went on to pursue an education in art and graduated with a B.F.A. from Utah State University. She is intrigued by patterns and bright colors and has chosen a floral subject matter to explore them. Mariah enjoys working with flowers and preserves their beauty by painting them. Using bright colors, layers and patterns to bring out the uniqueness and character of each flower. She paints freely and intuitively to capture the charm of the blooms. She is intrigued by the femininity found within flowers and explores that within her brush strokes. The end result is a cheery, happy painting with a feminine touch of whimsy, evoking the presence she feels the flowers brought into her home.
