Exhibition | Drained: Using Water from the Sevier River

Presented by Snow College at Snow College - Richfield Campus Library

"Drained: Using Water from the Sevier River" is a new exhibition at Snow College Library - Richfield Campus that explores how irrigation projects started in the 1860s have directed nearly all the Sevier River’s water to agriculture and industries that have sustained communities in this arid desert environment, and asks whether it's time to re-evaluate this water usage system.

This exhibition accompanies the Smithsonian Water|Ways exhibition, stopping in in the Sevier Valley from August 22 to October 11, 2020 at the Fremont Indian State Park Museum.

Water|Ways is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Utah Humanities, touring in partnership with the Fremont Indian State Park & Museum. Water|Ways and associated events are part of Think Water Utah, a statewide collaboration and conversation on the critical topic of water presented by Utah Humanities and its partners.
