Originally scheduled for the spring, the competition was postponed once it became necessary for the museum to close to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic. The museum re-opened on June 20 and has received positive feedback on its efforts to keep visitors, artists, and staff safe and healthy. Many visitors expressed how thrilled they are that the museum is open to the public again.

When we first chose the theme "Changes" for this competition, we at the Brigham City Museum did not imagine the extent of change the world had in store. Even the exhibit itself had to experience change, as it was moved from its planned spring dates to the fall. We originally spoke of the cyclical nature of change, but now our thoughts center on the abrupt, transformative changes that shape our lives. We invite photographers to share their personal expressions of change for the 2020 Photography Competition.

All entries for this juried competition must have been taken on or after 4/5/2019 and be ready to hang when submitted. Entries must include a high resolution digital photo for marketing purposes. Entry forms and further information can be found on the museum’s website: brighamcitymuseum.org.
