Nina and Vera are moments away from their first combat mission as members of the formidable, all-female 588th Night Bomber Regiment—the “Night Witches.” As they fight their nerves, the women around them remind them what they are fighting for: honor, family, survival, the love of Mother Russia. But their planes are fragile, their reserves are low, and the enemy is waiting. When the time comes, to the sky they must go--ready or not.
