Red Rock Film Fest presents RFM Cinema Conference

Red Rock Film Fest presents RFM Cinema Conference

Presented by Red Rock Film Festival at Center for the Arts at Kayenta

Eco Documentary, Quarantine Shorts, Outdoor Adventure, Veterans Day Films; it’s all here. This collection is groundbreaking: an entirely new and improved cinematic experience for all, from the team behind Red Rock Film Festival. The cinematic study of humanity may be more important than ever, and we’re helping RRFF present fresh iterations of that study to the public, safely socially distanced and sanitized.

New, relevant, auteurist cinema awaits your eyes!

By 2017, the Red Rock Film Festival had become too big for Southern Utah, having accepted 161 films from 29 countries out of 956 submitted from 61 countries. Now in its 14th year, the Festival is offering a new flavor: RFM Cinema Conference. Whereas the Festival in Cedar City features mostly new competitive films from both professionals and students, RFM (Red Film Market) at Kayenta introduces even more films, including both full-length internationally released features and short films in all genres. Shown mostly outside the realm of competition, this five day event will also host cinematic seminars, panel discussions, and even some private Industry screenings.

From “eco-conscience” documentaries such as “The Devil’s Road: A Baja Adventure” and social justice pieces such as “Through the Cracks,” to the new genre of Quarantine Shorts, RFM certainly has the diversity to match its sister Festival. As always, outdoor adventures is a major theme. We’ll see work by Amy Lerner, Richard Heeley’s “One More Win,” Brandon Russell’s “Rise of the Bird Men,” and several Mountain West and Western States premieres. Just in time for Veterans Day, the U.S. premiere of Jaremey McMullin’s “Silkies” will prompt the audience to ask, “Why are these military vets marching in their underwear for a serious cause?” Red Rock Film Festival alumni Aidan McAteer, Kevin Payet, Charlotte Poncin, Dom West, and William J. Stribling are also back to showcase their new films.

This is largely a pass holder event. Available now on RRFF’s website are Multi-Day Passes, including the 9-day 2-Festival (RFM + RRFF) VIP and 2-Festival Locals Fest Pass. Individual tickets will also be available during the Festival. Visit their website for more information and additional ticket types: https://redrockfilmfestival.eventive.org/welcome
