For 29 years, a live theatrical stage production based on THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS (my original Christmas story with music) has toured throughout the U.S. to packed theaters during the holiday season. Over a million tickets sold since its release in 1991.

Each year there have been special additions, surprises and production values added to the show that have enhanced the spirit of the songs and the emotional impact of the story. In 2019, the story and songs were completely RE-IMAGINED on stage in ways that so resonated, not only with our audience members who come every year as part of their Christmas Holiday tradition, but also with people who were experiencing THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS for the first time.

So, we knew we just had to figure out a way to EXPAND the reach of the stage play…and then came a global pandemic and we didn’t know if our dream was even possible. There’s a line in our show that says, “Miracles really do happen at Christmas time, don’t they?” And that’s has happened here. Through hard work, tenacity and many miracles, things started falling into place.

It started when another popular stage play was released AS A FILM…the stage production of HAMILTON. Seeing that stage to screen transformation inspired us to find a way to safely film THE NEWLY REIMAGINED FORGOTTEN CAROLS in front of a very small LIVE AUDIENCE!

Funding was offered to support the production and a grant was awarded through the Utah Film Commission. Then a beautiful theatre that would allow us to film was instantly available when our initial choice cancelled. You see. Miracle after miracle.

Then, while filming the performance in front of a socially distanced and masked audience, something truly magical happened! You’ll understand what I’m writing about when you are able to experience what our production team is calling “our miracle of 2020”: The stage to screen adaptation of THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS!
