This introductory class is part one of a 3 semester series to learn to draw and paint human anatomy. We will start by drawing and painting the bones, then overlay the muscles with tracing paper. Finally, we will render the anatomy and its effects under the skin. Designed to assist the student with a basic overview of the anatomical names of bones, and the superficial muscles that are required to represent the figure in proper proportions and realism. We will be using charcoal, Pitt Pastel pencils, and watercolors during this semester to render beautiful anatomical studies. This is a 15 week course with the first day of the semester being September 1st. All virtual streams will be recorded and available on your class page which will be password protected. Instructions to access the Zoom meetings, class recordings, and other class resources will be sent via email as we near the start of the semester. All students attending the class in person must follow the protocols put in place to assure the safety of staff and students. All on-site classes require that masks are worn and physical distancing guidelines are followed. See full COVID guidelines here. Please send any questions to us at info@visualartinstitute.org.
