Jazzy Olivo, vocals, grew up winning numerous singing competitions in her home country, the Dominican Republic. At Age 17 Jazzy moved to Salt Lake City and continued her singing, studying with David Schmidt, Head of Voice in the Musical Theater Department at the University of Utah. Jazzy represented Utah in the International Spanish Version of American Idol “La Academia USA” . She was awarded 6th place. That led her to move to Mexico City where she made her acting debut as Motor Mouth Mabel on “Hairspray, the Musical.” She lived in Mexico City for 5 years performing in Aladdin, Chicago and Mukuye, and other musicals. She has performed with The Utah Symphony and with different local bands, such as The Jazz Vespers Quartet, Changing Lanes Experience and Latin Jazz All-Stars. Jazzy co-founded, with pianist Courtney Isaiah Smith, the Jazz Fusion Band “The Mix.”
