Classical Acting: Shakespeare, Sci-Fi and the Universal Language of Rhetoric

Presented by Utah Shakespeare Festival at Online/Virtual Space

In this Virtual Play Seminar at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, actors Tony Amendola and Armin Shimerman. They have both performed stand-out roles at the Festival and on television and will be discussing the intersection between their classical training and their memorable performances. Amendola has appeared at the Festival in such memorable roles as Shylock in 2010 and Lear in 2015. He has appeared on television as Geppetto in Once Upon a Time and Bra’tac in Stargate SG-1, as well as numerous roles on the stage. Shimerman performed at the Festival as Gregory Solomon in The Price and Polonius in Hamlet, both in 2019. He also played Quark in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and various roles on Broadway and regionally and in television and film.
