Jan. Local Concert Series

Presented by Intermountain Acoustic Music Association at Online/Virtual Space

Pat and Roy have been performing together since 2011 when they met at the Downstairs Bar in Park City where Pat was singing with Buddha Pie.  They struck up a conversation, and have been playing together ever since in many venues throughout Salt Lake City.  Pat and Roy perform for Heart and Soul, a local organization which brings live music to assisted living facilities and hospitals throughout the greater Salt Lake Valley.  They have appeared on Park City TV, and perform at many local eateries.  Pat and Roy have performed on KRCL radio as a duo, and frequently they add back up roles for other local performers.

Pat hails from New York City where she toured throughout the U.S. with the American Tap Dance Orchestra and in many club venues in New York City and in Berlin for the Chancellor of Germany while touring with the Rock Show “Shindig” and in various venues in Sweden and the U.S. She’s had the opportunity to have Carly Simon listen to her CD “New York Story” with favorable response and had her original songs sent to Anita Baker and Cassandra Wilson.

Roy hails from Little Rock Arkansas where he sang with the Gospel Group” Dunamis” and toured throughout the U.S.  He has 3 honorable mentions in Billboard Magazine’s Singer/Songwriter contest in 2013, and, the top 10 in 2015 and 2016.

Percussionist Kim Correa plays cajon with a flair, bringing other sounds into the acoustic backbeat mix. In addition to performing with Pat and Roy, she is the drummer for Megan Peters and Aaron Jones and previously played with Crazywoolf, David Lane, Sterling Blues, and the Steve Bassett Band.  In her day job, Kim runs The INN Between hospice for the homeless.

Madame á Trois; left to right: Tommy “Cajon”, Brooke Mackintosh, [Tiberius,] and Randal Palmer.
Brooke “Madame” Mackintosh has always lived her life to the sound of her own music – singing “since day one” as her mother describes, playing piano as soon as she could reach the keys, and later picking the guitar at age 15.  At 25, Brooke began her professional music journey when she packed up her car and headed out to live her lifelong dream as a singer-songwriter in San Diego. After a year of immersion into the music scene there, she released her debut album Blue Skies Await, under her stage name “Brooklyn” with producer Sven-Erik Seaholm.  The duo Seaholm-Mackintosh then created a duet album Monarchs, which in 2011 was nominated for Best Pop Album in the San Diego Music Awards.  Her show Brooklyn & Friends, was supported by local celebrities, promoted by local TV, and her song “Believe” was used in a weekly local MyTV13 show.  In 2013, the duo created their third album, STLA, in collaboration with Nisha Catron.

A devoted mother, resident of Morgan, Utah, but a Salt Lake City native with a Gypsy soul, “Madame” is best known for her original, acoustic soul, with undefinable genre undertones; she calls it “Indie Mountain Soul”.  Folks also know her as creator and host of the Spice of Life Variety Show (Tuesdays at 7PM MT on her Facebook Live page) for which she books, promotes, performs and collaborates with fabulous local and touring special guests.

From solo performances to traveling with a full touring band, Brooke performs at all types of venues, including countless music festivals all over the western U.S., and has shared the stage with a myriad of renowned artists.  She has performed the National Anthem for numerous motor races, and the very first Utah NASCAR race.  Find out more about her fascinating life on her website, www.brookemackintosh.com.  In tonight’s performance, Madame á Trois will include Tommy Cajon on percussion/cajon, Randal Palmer on upright bass, and The Madame on vocals and guitar.
