Utah Water Ways | Talk with Greg Smoak

Utah Water Ways | Talk with Greg Smoak

Presented by Swaner EcoCenter and West Valley Arts and Utah Museum of Fine Arts and Utah Humanities at Online/Virtual Space

Utah is land of scarcity and plenty, and those extremes have shaped our relationship to water. Join Greg Smoak, Director of the American West Center at the University of Utah and state scholar for Water|Ways, to explore how water has motivated great cooperation and great conflict between peoples, communities, and governments. Sign up at swanerecocenter.org/calendar or www.wvcarts.org/h2otoday.html

This event is presented in conjunction with four water exhibitions on display in the greater Salt Lake area:
- The Smithsonian exhibition Water|Ways is at the Swaner EcoCenter from December 19, 2020 to March 27, 2021.
- The Smithsonian exhibition H2O Today is at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center from January 21 to April 19, 2021.
- Confluence is at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts from
February 18 to December 5, 2021
- Decisions Downstream is at the Natural History Museum of Utah from January 9 to June 1, 2021.

Water|Ways and H2O Today are organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service and are touring Utah in partnership with Utah Humanities and local hosts. This event is part of Think Water Utah, a statewide collaboration and conversation on the critical topic of water presented by Utah Humanities and its partners.
