In this ten-week class, we will be exploring a variety of mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, tempera paint, chalk, and oil pastel, collage, etc. We will also experiment with using these mediums by combining several of them and seeing how they interact with one another. The theme for this class will be based on the work of other artists such as Georgia O’Keefe, Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, and many others. We will create artwork with various subject matter such as portraits, landscapes, abstract pieces, flowers, buildings, animals, and ships. This should be a fun class where students learn to enjoy creating art and exploring what they can do with different kinds of mediums.
