only the lonely: evening one

only the lonely: evening one

Presented by loveDANCEmore at Online/Virtual Space

This is the first of three in our “only the lonely” series – supporting artists working in the safest possible ways, either at home with those who they live with, or fully remotely as technology makes possible.

Nora Lang’s “TV Dinners On The Farm” is an evolving dance creation and practice. The work lovingly frames modern dance within the format of trivia game shows. The dance is stitched and woven into an interactive guessing game for the audience. Rather than keeping the dancer’s prompts for improvisations a secret behind studio doors, the audience is invited to pair the correct prompt to the dancers’ movement. Movement, audience participation, transparent in joy, absurdity, and whimsy make the heart of this research. During the show case audiences will participate through a chat feature and a video tile.

Moscow native and Snow College dance professor Dmitri Peskov will present “This Blinding Light,” a new short dance film in Russian language with English subtitles featuring Warren Hess (Ephraim, UT), Jung Ah Yoon (Seoul, Korea) as well as Peskov himself.
