The Lightwood Duo has been delighting audiences in Utah as well as across the country since their founding in 1992. Comprised of guitarist Mike Christiansen and clarinetist Eric Nelson, the Lightwood Duo has performed concerts as well as casual dates from New York City to Honolulu.

Both members of the duo are prominent educators as well as performers. Mike is emeritus professor of music at Utah State University, where he founded the internationally acclaimed guitar program. He currently has over fifty instructional guitar books and DVDs in print. Mike has performed as a solo guitarist throughout Utah and in Las Vegas, as well as with The Orchestra at Temple Square. Eric is a retired middle school band and guitar teacher. He is active as a freelance musician and has performed with the Utah Symphony, Utah Chamber Artists, Ballet West Orchestra, American Festival Orchestra, and in New York with the Riverside Trio. The Lightwood Duo has released six CDs, many tracks of which have been featured on CBC Radio in Vancouver, Canada. They were featured performers for six seasons with the Utah Performing Arts Tour.
