Project ABC Community Convening / Arts and Rural Placekeeping

Project ABC Community Convening / Arts and Rural Placekeeping

Presented by Park City Summit County Arts Council at Online/Virtual Space

Join the Arts Council for our virtual Community Convening on Friday, March 5 from 9:00-11am.
This Community Convening will explore Arts & Rural Placekeeping. Within this conversation, we will consider the role of Arts and Culture in celebrating rural communities and the many ways in which Arts and Culture can flourish authentically throughout all areas of Summit County.

We will hear from Lenise Peterman (Mayor of Helper, Utah) and Kim Konikow (Executive Director of North Dakota Council on the Arts). Lenise and Kim will share their unique perspectives about the importance of Arts and Culture in rural communities and how they have worked to instill Arts and Culture in their communities.

The presentations will conclude around 10 am when we will shift to a roundtable discussion with Arts and Culture leaders and advocates from throughout Eastern Summit County. In this discussion, we will explore the topics from the presentations, consider the work currently happening throughout the Eastside of the county, and brainstorm ways in which Arts and Culture can increasingly support all areas of Summit County.

This event is free and open to the public.
This topic will focus on the PLACES Collective Priority from the Project ABC Cultural Plan. The full plan can be read at projectabcsc.com/roadmap
