6th Annual Story Crossroads Festival: The Hybrid - virtual and proper-distance options

Presented by Story Crossroads at Murray City Park

Join us Monday-Thursday, May 10-13, 2021 for a hybrid storytelling festival.

Monday we have virtual professional development trainings as well as virtual marketplace, demonstrations, and “Story Art Demo” with 5 different organizations to understand how they relate to story.  Tuesday is our series of proper-distanced concerts at the Murray City Park (495 East 5300 South, Murray, UT) that will also be filmed and available to people who bought tickets. Footage will be released later that week no matter if attended live or watching all virtually. Wednesday is our Virtual Field Trip Day through our YouTube Channel (unlisted, given to registrants) and then a Zoom/livestream performance and arts education through Story Crossroads and the Salt Lake City Library System on “Wizards in the Valley: Tales of Magicians in early Salt Lake City” presented by story magician Richard Hatch. Finally, Thursday focuses on a free livestreamed academic discussion called “Language of Story: Hungarian” shared by Dr. Csenge Zalka with ability to ask your questions followed by a pre-recorded performance geared for teens and older.

We thank the funding from National Endowment for the Arts; Western States Arts Federation; Utah Division of Arts and Museums & Utah Legislature; Utah Humanities; City of Murray; Zoo, Arts & Parks of Salt Lake County (ZAP); Salt Lake City Arts Council; Clever Octopus, and 80+ businesses and individuals. We appreciate the collaboration with the Salt Lake City Library System.

Story Crossroads Festival is hybrid - with virtual and proper-distanced options. Most events are virtual while Tuesday, May 11th is our in-person day at the Murray City Park (495 East 5300 South, Murray, UT) with proper-distancing and masks. The Tuesday in-person events will be filmed and then released to ticketholders to view through unlisted YouTube whether or not they attended at the park. The May 10-13, 2021 festival will be available to view to June 15, 2021.

We do have three free events that are through Zoom. They will be recorded so if people cannot attend at the event's times and shared with ticketholders. We are using Zoom as well as unlisted YouTube for the virtual events.

Each ticket is good for one person/household to have access to the entire 2021 Story Crossroads Festival held May 10-13, 2021 with exception to the separate ticketed 5-hour intensive virtual workshop taught by Dr. Csenge Zalka on May 10. A specific webpage and link will be emailed to all registrants and/or main contacts.
