Pickee’ Out the Stingers is a 4 piece Bluegrass band that was formed in the spring of 2016 after a chance meeting at a jam session at Wasatch Musician. A local legend and Dobro player, Mr. Fairley Sparks, put the group together to form a bluegrass group that would both pay homage to the tradition and push it forward into whatever it may become.

Fairley passed away after a brave battle with lung cancer, the remaining members decided to keep it going in honor of their friend and for their shared love of the music. They changed their name to “Pickee’ Out The Stingers”, which was a running joke that the band shared with Fairley.

The group draws from Bluegrass standards and original material to create an upbeat and exciting vibe that often has people stomping and dancing. Complete with harmonized vocals, blistering solos and tight turnarounds.
