Family Arts Festival: Art Staycation Week 5 - The Book of Me

Presented by Brigham Young University Museum of Art at Brigham Young University Museum of Art

Hop in our very own time machine back to the days when everything was black-and-white! During Week 5 of the Family Arts Festival, your family can explore the Utah of a bygone era through iconic black-and-white photos in the Fields of Labor and Recovery exhibition. What did this place look like during the Great Depression? How did children dress during this time? And how can we know for sure? See, hear, and even TASTE the past in this delightful trip back in time that will entertain and inspire your children (and make them grateful for the conveniences they have now)! Once you’re done, if you’re among the first 75 people registered, each child in your group will get free materials to create their own book of personal stories and memories.

This annual celebration of creativity helps art lovers of all ages play, create, explore, and more as they interact with some of the finest artworks the MOA has to offer. This year, the Family Arts Festival will be held in six unique sessions from June to August, each with its own free opportunities for children to witness wonderful artworks and create masterpieces of their own. Each session features a different MOA exhibition and a unique art-creation activity, so we welcome you to register for as many as you’d like, then attend any time during the week of each of your sessions. Supplies are limited, so register soon to ensure the artists in your family don’t miss this opportunity to playfully learn new skills!
