Take a Bite Out of Science: Why Migrate?

Take a Bite Out of Science: Why Migrate?

Presented by HawkWatch International at Online/Virtual Space

In 1986, nearly a decade after HWI founder Steve Hoffman first began his pioneering effort to learn more about raptor migration in the U.S. west, HawkWatch International (HWI) was born. Since then, the organization has counted, banded, and gathered data on millions of birds heading south for the winter.

But why do birds migrate? And perhaps even more interestingly, why do some birds not migrate? Join HWI Research Biologist Jesse Watson for this short, lunchtime presentation where you'll learn more about the science behind migration.

Take a Bite out of Science is a virtual "lunch and learn" series where the HawkWatch International staff share scientific research, findings, and more in bite-sized nuggets, digestible for anyone and everyone. These presentations are made possible by Salt Lake County ZAP and the generosity of supporters like you.
