*** Please note, due to the race, there will be NO lift-served mountain biking on June 19. Guests may hike on the upper trails and ride the gondola back down, but please be cautious as snowfields may exist on the trails.***

Snowbasin is partnering with the Utah High School Mountain Bike Association for the BASIN BEASTLEY bike race. Join us on Saturday, June 19, where the proceeds benefit long-time Snowbasin employee Tim Eastley recovering from a medical emergency.  If you can't make the bike race and would like to still donate an option is available in increments of $25. There will also be an in-person silent auction with some great items from local organizations.

*Each category will have the following options: Mens, Womens, Boys (12-18), and Girls (12-18)

Pro/Expert/Sport will be two laps and the Beginner will be one lap.  One lap is 5-6 miles and two laps is 11-12 miles.

Long time Terrain Park Manager and Summer Trails Manager Tim Eastley suffered a major stroke at the end of the Winter Season. Tim’s impact to the ski and bike community has been profound.  His award winning work and dedication to the progression of athletes in the area has been felt by many.  The creativity and hard work by he and his team have made an impact to our guest experience for years.  Overseeing the development of the new park rope tow or the many years of the Pond Skim, Tim has contributed to the success of the resort for a long, long time.

This stroke has been incredibly impactful to Tim’s family. His wife Sandy and their two young children have started to weather the storm of the impact this stroke has had to their family.  We are a tight family here at Snowbasin and while we’ve rallied behind one of our own for several months now we also recognize that a larger community support is necessary to help Tim on his road to recovery.  To this end the Basin Beastly has been created with all proceeds going to the Eastley family to help cover medical expenses.

Tim Eastley is a man who loves the outdoors. From 1978 - 1984 he was a BMX Schwinn Team Rider. After many years of BMX biking, he found the love for mountain biking in 1990. In the winter months following the bike season he picked up snowboarding and never looked back. He was a competitive snowboarder from 1991 - 1999. After his time on the circuit, he looked for a way to find a career in areas he was passionate about, which led him to Breckenridge, Colorado in 2000 to work on their terrain parks. He was in Colorado through 2007, and then found himself in Utah. He has led the Snowbasin Terrain Park Team since 2008 and when Snowbasin started summer operations he was the creator of the Mt. Ogden Midweek Bike Series in 2015. In 2016 he became actively involved with the Utah High School Mountain Bike Race Program.
