9th Annual Utah Pacific Island Heritage Month Kick-Off

9th Annual Utah Pacific Island Heritage Month Kick-Off

Presented by Pacific Island Knowledge 2 Action Resources (PIK2AR) at Pacific Heritage Academy

Join us for the 9th Annual Utah Pacific Island Heritage Month Kick-Off on July 31st at 5PM - 10PM. An evening of fun and education for the whole family at Pacific Heritage Academy in Salt Lake City. Live music, dancing, food, cultural demonstrations, crafts, and so much more in celebration of our Utah Pacific Islander community. All ages are welcome to attend.

The earliest Pacific Islanders to settle in Utah were a mixture of Hawaiians, Samoans, and Māori in 1889 at Iosepa located in Tooele. We celebrate our history and acknowledge our growth as a community for the entire month of August into September. Come learn about the similarities and differences amongst our various Pacific Island communities that live in Utah. For more information or if you'd like to sign up to become a vendor or performer, please visit upihm.com. Direct all inquiries to info@pik2ar.org. This event is brought to you by Pacific Island Knowledge to Action Resources, Pasifika Enriching Arts of Utah, and the Pacific Island Business Alliance with help from KRCL, SLUG Magazine, Salt Lake County's Zoo, Arts and Parks Program, Premier Catering, and PIK2AR's Empowered Living Services.
