The Chalk Art Showcase is one of our favorite parts of Butlerville Days. We love the creativity and look forward to seeing the designs each year. This is a great opportunity for artists to share their creative voice, for families to compete together and start a new fun summer tradition, and for beginner artists to stretch out of their comfort zones! We encourage all ages and skill levels to enter!

Butlerville Days Chalk Art Contest Rules
Butler Park - 7500 South 2700 East, Behind Butler Middle School

Thursday, July 22 - 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
or
Friday, July 23 - 7 a.m. - 10 a.m.

1. There will be five categories in which drawings will be judged and prizes awarded:
i. Advance (Past experience in sidewalk chalk art)
ii. Beginner (No prior experience with sidewalk chalk art)
iii. Family/Team
iv. Best Animal/Best in show -(Best drawn animal)

2. Each participant or team will be assigned a 4 ft. x 4 ft. square pavement space, each participant will receive a Butlerville Days Chalk Art Contest shirt.

3. Participants will bring their own chalk, shade, and water. No fixatives or oil based chalks are allowed on the pavement.

4. The city and Butlerville Days committee encourages original artwork, but requires participants to give credit for images derived from other sources.

5. Photos of artwork will be taken and may be used for promotional purposes.

6. The City of Cottonwood Heights and Butlerville Days Committee reserve the right to disqualify any artwork that is deemed inappropriate.

8. The contest will end Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m., art will be judged, and prizes awarded by Friday, July 23 at noon.

Join us in a chalk art contest during Butlerville Days in Cottonwood Heights. This is a free event. Healthy Pets of Cottonwood Heights is sponsoring the event and providing prizes. There will be 4 categories you can compete in; beginner, advanced, family/group, "best in show".

Beginner - for anyone who is new to chalk art, or considers themselves "novice"

Advanced - for those who have done chalk art before and feels confident in their abilities

Family/Group - for those who want to work on chalk art with their family or friends

"Best in Show" - for anyone who wants to draw with the theme of "pet animal"

There will be two times to work on your chalk art creations on July 22nd from 5 pm -9 pm and July 23rd from 7 am - 10 am. Judging will take place and winners announced at noon.
