A timely, poetic, and glittery-new queer play about the demise of Patriarchy; a site specific event – written & directed by Roger Benington, with Paul Kiernan and Tyler Fox.
U.S. Premiere! Father’s life held promise. He’d followed the Mormon formula: mission, marriage, family. He certainly never anticipated that a divorce, lay-offs, or foreclosure could thwart his eternal Pursuit of Excellence. Then came the death of his wayward twin-son by suicide. Yet tonight, returning home to his squalid Salt Lake City apartment, freshly fired from his job at a 7-Eleven, with only a thread of hope intact, Father will encounter something so disturbing as to shake his faith completely: A trace of glitter on his surviving son's face! Does it signal his demise or the start of a fantastical new journey to the underworld?
A site specific event staged at The Art Castle, an historic, formerly-LDS chapel, now a project of the Utah Arts Alliance. "A really strong, thought provoking play. ... A spectacular end to the American Season at the Canal Cafe Theatre." London Pub Theatre review.
