Formerly an online exhibition, this show now comes to life on the Museum walls. Join us as we view how Utah’s youth coped with crisis and change through the challenging COVID-19 crisis.
September 8, 2021 - December 11, 2021
In March of 2020, life as we knew it was put on hold. Many of us felt far away from the comfort and security of our regular routines, but we were up close to a “new normal.” United in the unexpected opportunity to examine the aspects of our lives that we were distanced from, and closer to, we invited K-12 students from across the state to submit original works of art for a special online exhibition. Utah students reflected on their own experiences, activities, and commitments while looking closer at relationships, places, and objects in their own spaces.
This exhibition opened April 22, 2020 online (www.UpCloseAndFarAway.org). New submissions were updated weekly through June 1, 2020 and now this exhibition comes to life on the Museum walls. Join us as we view how Utah’s youth coped with crisis and change through challenging circumstances.
This exhibition is presented in collaboration with Utah State Board of Education specialists Jeffrey Ojeda, Christelle Estrada, and Alex Farah. Click here for information on the opening reception September 8, 6:00-8:00pm.
Admission is free. Donations are greatly appreciated.
