Building the Next Generation of Biologists, featuring the 2021 Migration Crew

Presented by HawkWatch International at Online/Virtual Space

Each year, for 35 years, crews have been hiking to the tops of mountains across the Western United States to live for months at a time, all in hopes of playing a role in monitoring the long-term health of raptor populations. Almost a thousand people have volunteered their time, all in the name of raptor conservation.

You've likely heard how important this long-term monitoring is for the birds before. But what you haven't probably heard is the impact on the people who make it possible. Join us for this one-hour presentation where you'll hear directly from the 2021 HawkWatch International migration crewmembers, as part of our five-week virtual celebration of raptor migration, 35 Years & Counting.

The crew members will share what it takes to do this work, the challenges they face, and the impact it has on them and their careers. You won't want to miss this.
