Centennial Plaza in front of City Hall will officially open on Friday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m., with the planned launch of the city's new Plaza +ART program and a ribbon cutting.
Centennial Plaza was built as a gathering space connecting City Hall and the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center. The plaza includes walking paths, water-wall signage, an amphitheater and pavilion, in addition to places for public art. Those art spaces will allow for an “art walk” showcasing unique sculptures from talented artists — thus the Plaza +ART program in which local artists and their work will be featured at the plaza on an ongoing basis.
