The Ghostly Miners of Castle Gate

The Ghostly Miners of Castle Gate

Presented by Eastern Utah Tourism & History Assocation at Swift Stop & Shop

When the Castle Gate coal mine exploded in 1924, the 171 miners killed left behind their spirits. Travel with us to the historic Castle Gate Cemetery where many of these miners are buried and learn the stories of their lives and their untimely deaths. Then venture down to the mine portal where the explosion took place… under the cemetery. (Note: we do NOT enter the mine.) Afterwards we will travel through the old town of Castle Gate, once a thriving town, all that remains now are the ghosts. This 2 hour tour “explodes” with excitement.
