Sotto Voce Strings will perform Christmas and seasonal music.
Sotto Voce Strings consists of approximately 50 violin students, ranging in age from 5-18 years old. These students practice individually two to four hours daily and rehearse as a group once or twice a month.
Sotto Voce Strings patterned its name after the musical term sotto voce: meaning to intentionally lower the volume in order to create a more powerful emphasis. As musicians, we have the humbling opportunity to nourish and heal souls through music and that is the purpose of this group!
The students are directed by Asheley Watabe, a graduate of University of Michigan School of Music, Doralee Madsen, a graduate of University of Utah, and Lois Waltman, also a graduate of University of Utah.
Free, but tickets are required. They must be picked up in person from Holladay City Hall reception between December 13 - 16th. No reservations. First-come first-served. Seating is limited to 200 people. Masks are strongly recommended.
