NOSFERATU (1922) 100th Anniversary Screening | The 2022 Electric Film Series

Presented by Film and Media Alliance of Southern Utah at The Electric Theater Center

FMASU proudly presents The Electric Film Series - A Journey Through the History of Film: Volume 2.

We\'re taking audiences on a cinematic adventure that spans over a century of film…

Once a month throughout 2022...

And it’s completely free to the community!

The Electric Film Series continues at the Electric Theater on Tuesday, February 15th, at 6 PM (Doors at 5:30 PM) with a special 100th-anniversary screening of a vampire opus from the 1920s;

“Nosferatu” (1922)
--------------------------------------------
F.W. Murnau’s legendary tale of vampirism features a haunting performance by Max Schreck as Count Orlok, the mysterious proprietor of a Transylvanian castle. “Nosferatu” is heavily inspired by Bram Stoker\'s “Dracula,” so much so, in fact, that the Stoker estate actually took offense to Murnau’s film. Still, this iconic silent classic has become the stuff of legend having inspired a well-liked Werner Herzog-helmed redo starring Klaus Kinski in the 70s as well as “Shadow of the Vampire,” a 2000-released biopic starring John Malkovich as Murnau and Willem Dafoe as Schreck. Come out to the Electric Theater and experience the birth of the cinematic vampire by way of this glorious 100th-anniversary celebration.

FMASU’s screening of “Nosferatu” will include an intro by film historian and JakCine Entertainment founder, Jason Jackson. A very knowledgeable Jackson will also be back following the movie for an insightful post-screening discussion.
Be sure to arrive at the screening a little early and leave an optional donation. This donation will get you a delicious menu item from Riggatti\'s to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can feel free to take it home with you following the movie.
Additionally, there will be photo ops and a handful of surprises at what is sure to be an unforgettable evening at the movies. Be sure to spread the word by sharing this event page.

Also, RSVP at www.fmasu.com and get an email reminder of the event.

We understand the film series provides screenings of movies that one can watch in the comfort of their own homes. However, our nonprofit organization aims to provide these films with the hope that our community understands the importance of the theatrical experience. To watch on the big screen, where films were intended to be seen. We also provide additional perks of coming out to the free event, such as; movie-themed photo ops, a live introduction of the film by a special guest, a post-screening discussion, a sponsored meal, and other surpirses. We treat these special evenings as a one-of-a-kind experience for all and hope to see you, your friends, and your family in attendance.
