Southern Utah University’s Department of Music is excited to announce a collaborative performance with Dr. Lynn Vartan and Dr. McKay Tebbs in a concert titled SoundScapes on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall at SUU’s Music Building. This performance will feature music played on the guitar and percussion instruments. This concert is free and open to the public.

Dr. McKay Tebbs, Director of Undergraduate Music Technology at SUU, shares, “This soundscapes concert is an opportunity to hear the unique combination of electric guitar and vibes in a modern compositional setting. I always get excited when a composer like Timo Andres calls for guitar pedals like the octave pedal to be used in the score. We’ll also be playing a jazz piece composed by Gary Burton. Dr. Vartan is a prolific musician and I am very excited to perform this concert with her.”
