Scandi Spring Fest 2022

Presented by Salt Lake Scandinavian Music & Dance at E. W. Garbett Center

Amy Hakanson is a very talented musician from Portland, Oregon. She studied at the Eric Salström institute in Sweden and has a degree in Ethnomusicology from Portland State University. Amy studied classical violin and plays an amazing variety of instruments including regular fiddle, Swedish nyckelharpa, Norwegian hardingfele, banjo and guitar. She grew up playing bluegrass fiddle with her family band and her interest in Swedish folk music begain with the nyckelharpa in 2008. We will have a concert Friday evening and Amy will join together with our own Troll Sisters (aka Scandi Band) for a Saturday evening "Social" with potluck and dancing. Amy will be teaching fiddle and nyckelharpa goup lessons over the weekend. See the poster for schedule and details.

Admission Info

Concert only is $5 admission per person, at the door or online at our website. www.SaltLakeScandiDance.org  Music lessons and Saturday social are free. Donations are welcome and will be passed onto our guest musician.

Friday Concert is $5/person.  Saturday Potluck social starts at 6:30 pm, bring a dish, snack or dessert. Music will start about 7:30, dancing is optional. Fiddle and Nyckelharpa lessons are free; see website or poster for days and times; contact us via email for details.
