Shakespeare's MacBeth and Much Ado About Nothing play in repertory for Renaissance Now Summer Festival at the Historic Castle Amphitheatre in Provo, June 1-11th. MacBeth plays June 2, 7, 9,10, 11 with Much Ado About Nothing on June 1, 3, 6, & 8. The plays offer high contract in Shakespearian experience,  both the comedy and historical tragedy are set in war-torn countries, which we feel at Renaissance Now Theatre & Film, very much speaks to our time.  MacBeth about political intrigue as the Scottish nation rebounds from war, and Much Ado is set in the 70's on a MASH medical emergency unit, which develops the Shakespeare comedy with creative leaps of character relevance to the MASH characters we all know and love.  MacBeth, directed by Kathy Curtiss, develops the complex human dilemma of ambition and honor, while Much Ado About Nothing, directed by M.Chase Grant, challenges our thinking and surprises us with the relevance of Shakespeare's wit, in setting the play in an emergency medical unit in Korea in the 70's.  The cast works in repertory and features mostly the same cast of characters switching into the contrasting roles.  Featured actors are Marvin Payne, Liz Golden, Zach Ballard, Adam Argyle, Chase Grant, Jeff Denison, Michael Hess, Mira Kocherhans, Anton Moss, Olympia Pead, Zel Bromley, Amy Carlin, Mason Tarwater, Stephano Puertas, Gavin Henry, Casey Copier, Seven Harrison, Lucy Golden, Abby Tarwater. Designer Janice Chan creates the war-torn ruins for the MacBeth Production that serves equally for the bombed-out structures of the MASH unit.  Fight direction is by Matt Carlin, who has profound reach into the storytelling of the Scottish play, with Broadswords wielded throughout the production.  Rych Curtiss offers lights and sound.  Keely Conrad is dance choreographer. Stage management by Chris Olsen, and co-director Brook Grant rounds out the team.  The Castle Amphitheatre is an historic site, with stone benches.  Bring blankets or chairs if wanted.  Seating is first come first serve outdoor venue, with house opening at 7:40 pm
