Aurora Vocal Consort celebrates its premier performance with Solstice, a collection of lush choral works to welcome summer!
The concert features pieces ranging from the early renaissance to the 21st century, including a pair of millennial pop tunes, cleverly arranged in the style of 16th century madrigals. The program includes a mix of sacred and secular music, including older works by John Dowland, Orlando Gibbons, and 18th century Ukrainian composer Maxim Berezovsky. Newer pieces include works by living composers Sara Graef, Ola Gjeilo, and Eric Whitacre, to name a few.
Aurora Vocal Consort is a newly formed chamber choir consisting of eight singers dedicated to bringing beauty, playfulness, and deep joy to the art of ensemble singing. For this program, Aurora co-founders Emily Nelson (soprano) and Logan Bradford (tenor) are joined by Lexie Davis (soprano), Dacia Gray (mezzo-soprano), Caroline Hagedorn, (mezzo-soprano), Karl White (tenor), Stephen Pace (baritone), and Ricky Parkinson (bass).
Admission is pay as able (suggested $15 general/$12 seniors/$10 students). No tickets needed.
