“Close Encounters of the Third Kind” (1977)
--------------------------------------------
With “Star Wars” being all the rage in 1977, some folks tend to forget that this was also the same year that saw the release of Spielberg’s much-loved follow-up to “Jaws.” In “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” Richard Dreyfuss plays family man Roy Neary, a dreamer who, along with a handful of others, makes contact with something not of this Earth. By way of iconic imagery, wonderful visual effects, terrific performances, a masterful John Williams score, and stellar direction from one of the best in the business, be part of a motion picture experience that demands to be seen on the big screen. Sidenote: Which version of “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” will viewers be treated to? You’ll just have to attend to find out!

FMASU’s screening of “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” will include an intro and post-screening discussion led by professional concept artist, photographer, and Atomic Apertures CEO, John Eaves. Eaves has worked on a fair share of science fiction-related projects through the years and as it happens, he’s a big-time fan of all things Spielberg making him the perfect special guest for this not-to-be-missed event.

Be sure to arrive at the screening a little early and leave an optional donation. This donation will get you a delicious menu item from Riggatti's to enjoy during the post-screening discussion or, you can feel free to take it home with you following the movie.

Additionally, there will be photo ops and a handful of surprises at what is sure to be a magical evening at the movies. On a final note, don’t forget to spread the word by sharing this event around the community!
