The Finch Lane Gallery presents two new art exhibitions: Normal Operations by marc t. wise and Push and Pull by David Raleigh. Open to the public from August 12 – September 23, 2022, at 54 Finch Lane. Finch Lane Gallery is open on Tuesdays from 9:30am-8:30pm and Wednesdays & Thursdays from 9:30am-5pm. There will be an artist reception on Friday, August 19, 6-9pm, open to the public.

marc t. wise - Normal Operations marc t. wise alters objects discarded from industrial operations. Through repurposing and re-presenting familiar materials, the artist explores the problematics of certainty and questions the definitions of function and utility, as well as uselessness. On display will be a series of sculptures reflecting the transformation from raw material to functional object, to something else entirely. wise’s work has been seen in galleries and project spaces throughout the United States. He holds a M.A. from the University of California Davis and a M.F.A. from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. David Raleigh - Push and PullPush and Pull stems from Raleigh’s interest in the way living things regulate their internal and external environments, constantly seeking balance, both psychologically and physiologically. The work in this show is about the struggle to find that balance. Through oil paintings, Raleigh creates figures, shapes, and marks that describe the rough, unkempt, humorous, and dysfunctional parts of our bodies, minds, and world. David Raleigh’s work has been featured in New American Paintings Magazine volumes 144 and 126. He holds a BFA from Brigham Young University. In the fall of 2022, he will be an MFA candidate at The University of Wisconsin, Madison.
