Over 5 decades, Phyllis Horne has established herself as a beloved and prominent Utah landscape artist. She was elected an Honored Artist of Utah, and received numerous other awards over the years. Her paintings are featured in numerous private and public collections, including the Springville Museum, The Salt Lake County Art Collection, The State of Utah Art Collection at the Governor's Mansion, St. Marks Hospital, Kennecott Copper, and several law firms. She is best known for the way she captures the poetry of trees and flowers. Born in Richfield, Utah, she paints rural Utah with great insight and empathy. She is adept at capturing the West's fast disappearing landscape. She gives the viewer the sense they've hiked that path or have viewed that bend in the road. Her paintings evoke memory and a deep respect for place.
The exhibition is free to the public.
