2022 Indigenous Art Market at NHMU

Presented by Natural History Museum of Utah at Natural History Museum of Utah

NHMU's annual Indigenous Art Market will be held in person at the Museum October 8 and 9, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Guests are invited to shop the finest in Native American art and jewelry, meet the artists, hear their stories, and support their work. It is a splendid display of artistic talent hosted in the Museum's Canyon. All proceeds from market sales go directly to the artists. Museum admission is required to attend the market.

This year the market will include:

39 artists from various tribes selling a diverse mix of mediums
Robb "Little Owl" Martin playing flute throughout the Museum
Hourly short dance performances, including Warrior Dance, Hoop Dance, Jingle Dance, and more
Short talks in the community room covering subjects including Navajo basket weaving, the Navajo Creation Story, and the Hoop Dance Story
An ethnography collections showcase hosted by NHMU scientists and researchers featuring items from the museum’s collection
