OSU: Symphonic Journey

OSU: Symphonic Journey

Presented by Orchestra of Southern Utah at Festival Hall and Heritage Theater - Cedar City

Music and art can transport us to memories of foreign lands and to the realms and worlds of our dreams. Come with the Orchestra of Southern Utah and let us transport you on a new journey with the premiere of the symphonic story of “Braveship” by Matt Cook. Join us for a magnificent musical and visual journey on Thursday, Oct. 13, 7:30 p.m., Heritage Theatre, 105 N. 100 East.

Intertwining music and art in storytelling dates from as far back in history as we can see. Matt Cook is a contemporary composer from Los Angeles who will be guest conducting "March of the Ants" from this magical suite. Xun Sun directs the rest of the concert with Michael Bahr as narrator.

You will visit planets with a "Saber Tooth Panther", experience the "Flight of the Firebird", and enjoy many other exciting and engaging pieces complete with stunning artwork. For more on the composer check https://www.visitmatt.com.

The Orchestra of Southern Utah offers evening and family concerts with 60 professional and dedicated amateur musicians. OSU also offers school programs and several of the musicians are teachers who are preparing the next generation of orchestra musicians.
