Día de Los Muertos: Honoring Our Ancestors

Día de Los Muertos: Honoring Our Ancestors

Presented by Southern Utah Museum of Art at Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts (SUU)

Southern Utah's largest Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration returns with music, dance, food, art, and more to honor our ancestors!
This event is free and open to everyone to learn about and celebrate the Mexican and Latin American holiday, Día de los Muertos.
Throughout the event guests can celebrate with performances by Mariachi Rosas Divinas, Dallas Fort Worth's first and only all female Mariachi, and southern Utah's Ballet Folklórico Herencia Hispana. Create art with family and friends through sugar skull cookies, paper marigolds, and Calavera masks!
Remember your loved ones through our Community Ofrenda (altar) on display from October 29 - November 5. Email your photos to sumamarketing@suu.edu or bring a framed picture with your name, email, and phone number to the museum between October 10-26. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute a loved one's name to the altar during the event.
This event was made possible by the following partners and sponsors: The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts, Visit Cedar City Brian Head, Utah Department of Cultural & Community Engagement, Southern Utah University, SUMA, SUU Languages & Philosophy, SUU Art & Design, and the Sorenson Legacy Foundation
