Free beginning drawing course for adults 55+!
Jewish Family Service Arts and Aging is pleased to announce our latest course for adults 55 or older: “Beginning Drawing” with teaching artist Jennifer Love. Jennifer believes that anyone can learn to draw! Creating can bring you joy, stress relief, and a sense of accomplishment. Drawing skills are the foundation for creating most forms of two-dimensional art. In this class, participants will learn how to break down subjects into basic shapes and proper proportions; how to distinguish and create light, medium, and dark values to create dimension; and to layout and complete more complicated drawings using sections (quadrants). Art classes give students the ability to provide encouragement to each other, socialize, and learn from each other. Participants will learn to develop self-confidence, let go of self-criticism and, most importantly, have fun!
Class will be held Tuesdays from 5:30 – 7pm at Day Riverside Library (1575 W 1000 N, Salt Lake City) from April 11 – June 6. The class and materials are FREE OF CHARGE!
Space is limited; register early by emailing emily@jfsutah.org.
