In honor of women’s history month as a collective of creativity we will create our self-portraits inspired by the works of Frida Kahlo.

Come to the space ready to learn about the works of Frida Kahlo, her influences, culture and revolutionary living. We will each take a self portrait, this portrait may then be used as a reference or used on your piece to create your canvas inspired by The Frame and several other works by the phenomenal Frida Kahlo.

All ages welcome to create and celebrate.

Sample Class Format

By using flower paints, acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel and live flowers we will create pieces that challenge the norms of what it means to be a revolutionary.

Each creative collective led by What’s Ya Vibe? incorporates breath work and movement as a part of your creation noting wellness and art must always go hand and hand.

Shalandrea H.

Shalandrea Renee Houchen is a LA born NYC raised multi disciplinary artist, educator and director that uses everyday objects like black hair, it's accessories and vibrant media to express her love, hate, fear and confidence. Through musical theater she lets her spirit flow to create works (paintings, sculptures, installations etc) meant to revive, bring humor and show where we are in our society.
