Memorial Day Program with Jennie Taylor

Memorial Day Program with Jennie Taylor

Presented by Larkin Mortuary at Larkin Sunset Gardens

The featured speaker will be Jennie Taylor, a Gold Star wife and Civilian Aide to the Secretary of Army, along with the Hill Air Force Honor Guard, Minuteman Brass Quintet, Alta High School Madrigals, and the Utah Firefighters Emerald Society.

Larkin Mortuary’s annual Memorial Day service was started 24 years ago to help families honor their loved ones and military veterans who have passed.  Services will include a flag ceremony, patriotic music with armed service songs from each military branch, bagpipes and drums, and refreshments

Jennie Taylor is the Gold Star Widow of Utah Army National Guard Major Brent Taylor, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in November of 2018 while on a leave of absence from his position as Mayor of North Ogden City, Utah. Major and Mrs. Taylor are the parents of seven children. She is the founder and director of the Major Brent Taylor Foundation. A former secondary educator of history, government and psychology classes, Mrs. Taylor is currently serving as the Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for the State of Utah and continually looks for ways to carry on her husband’s legacy of service to God, family, and country.
