Ben Littler presents “Cold Hands”, a photography exhibition featuring work that was shot entirely on 35mm and 120 film. The show centers around the idea of having one precise moment to nail a shot, and the feeling when you got it right.
"You have one frame to capture an action that has its peak visual moment for a tiny fraction of a second and if you are too early or too late the photograph is useless. A waste of expensive film that cannot be faked because those that are passionate about this silly sideways sledding that we do, know what the right frame looks like and they will express their grievances about said blown shot. You must know snowboarding intimately in order to understand why that tiny fraction of a second, when your brain says yes and you depress the shutter, to forever freeze the delicate yet powerful movement passing through your one open eye is so undeniably right. It's a lot, and it doesn't always work, but when it does and the exposure is correct and your friend looks graceful in frame and you have absolutely nailed the precise moment, you feel pretty good. This is a collection of my work from over the years where the timing was on. One frame per photo." - Ben Littler
This show centers around the themes of snowboarding, film photography, and that feeling when you got the shot.
